Hey, everyone, welcome to the automation club. My name is Ben, and today we’re going to be building a Personalized Thank You Notes for High Valued Customers automation using Ontraport’s automation builder. This is going to help you greatly in making your VIPs feel special or appreciated and, therefore, increase your retention rates. Lets hop in and get started.
If this is the first time you're seeing an automation map within the Ontraport platform, it's totally okay. We'll get you all sorted out.
So this is what the editor looks like. Generally speaking, a contact will get triggered onto the map and start at the top and work their way down. Here are what we call trigger elements. That's what you can see at the top here. There are three of them. A trigger element acts like an if-then statement. So, if a contact performs a specific action or meets some sort of criteria, they'll get triggered onto this map and work their way down.
In this case for high value customers, it really depends on what you consider to be high value. It could be that they've purchased a specific product or spent a certain amount on a product. It can be that they got access to a membership site and all those membership site customers are viewed as VIP or high value, or an ongoing recurring open order was created and those can be high ticket items, or people who over time do end up spending more money with you and therefore are VIP. So once they meet one of these criteria, they get triggered onto this map, and you can send some sort of personalized note for them. You can do that via email or SMS. Just a note, for SMS you will need prior consent to send them. But you can do email, SMS. You can even assign a task to your team to personally reach out to these people thanking them or offering other coupon codes for additional products.
You can even send what is called a fulfillment list. This adds those contacts to a CSV file that can get sent to you daily, weekly, monthly, and so you can see a list of all VIPs in your email.
Down here we have what is called goals, and these goals are actions that you would like your contacts to achieve. In this case, because we have a task above this for your employees to reach out or for you to reach out, the goals are that the task is completed and a specific outcome was achieved. You could say that they were called and didn't answer and a voicemail was left, or that you got through to them and they were excited. You can set up a whole bunch of different task outcomes. That's goals for your VIPs.
