Hey everyone. Welcome to the Automation Club. My name is Ben, and today we're going to be building a Remind Past Customers to Return automation using Entrepreneurs Automation Builder. This is really going to help you greatly in re-engaging past customers because we all know that getting new customers to buy is harder than people who already know who you are and have already bought from you. So let's hop in and get started.
If this is the first time you're seeing an automation map within Ontraports platform, it's totally okay. We'll get you all sorted out.
This is what the editor looks like and, generally speaking, a contact will be triggered into the map and start at the top and work their way down We use trigger
elements to do that. A trigger element acts like an if-then statement. If a contact performs a specific action or meets some sort of criteria, they'll get placed onto this map and work their way through the automation.
In this particular case with the Remind Past Customers to Return Automation, we have two triggers. The first one occurs when any product is purchased in the account. We update that contact's last purchase date to today. This is important because the next trigger is based on three months after that date because we want to remind them to return after three months. You can make that three months, six months, whatever period of time you'd like.
After that three month period has gone and they get re-triggered here on the map, we send them an email. This email says we miss you and provides a coupon code to get an additional discount on another product to incentivize them to purchase again. You can do that either via email or SMS. Just a little note with the SMS - you'll need prior consent ahead of time to send people SMS messages.
At the bottom here, we have what is called a Goal. A Goal is what you want people to achieve. In this case, we want people to use that coupon code to purchase another product. Once they receive the email or SMS, they will wait here.
They'll wait until the goal is achieved, so you give them time to purchase that. If they do purchase it, they will then move all the way down here to this Goal.
You'll see the number counter go up, and you'll know who has purchased the product and who has not purchased it based on that. So that was the Remind Past Customers to Return Automation, and you can get this entire automation pre-loaded into an entrepreneur account by clicking the button below.
