Hey everyone, welcome to the Automation Club. My name is Ben, and today we're going to be building a Feedback on Recently Canceled Subscription or Membership Sites automation using Ontraport's Automation Builder. This is really going to help you greatly in reducing future churn by acknowledging and fixing any current pain points. Let's hop in and get started.
If this is the first time you're seeing an automation map within Ontroport's platform, no worries. We'll get you all sorted out.
So this is what the editor looks like. Generally speaking, a contact will start at the top of a map and work their way down. They get put on a map via a trigger element. A trigger element acts like an if-then statement, so if a contact meets some sort of criteria or performs a specific action, they'll be placed onto the map.
In this case, we have two different triggers here - waiting for access to a membership site to be revoked or disabled, and the other one is waiting for an open order to be canceled. An open order is a recurring payment to be canceled. So when either of those happen, a contact will happen. It will be added to this map, and you'll send them an email. This email will have a link on it asking for feedback as to why they canceled.
As a secondary branch over here, we are waiting for that page with the form to be visited. When they click that link and they visit that page, they'll be put on this other branch here. Then we have a Wait. A Wait is a way to separate two different actions on a map. In this case, we're waiting between them visiting that page and them performing a specific goal. That's what these three goals are right here. A goal is what we want the contact to achieve. In this case, we want them to fill out that form providing the feedback. What these three goals are looking for are three different types of feedback that would be on that form. One of them is they found a better product, another one is they no longer needed the membership site or the open order, and the other one is too expensive. You can edit these or add more to them. After that, you'll send them an email confirming that they've filled out the form, thanking them for the time that they were with you, and you can even assign a task to your employees to either reach out to that person trying to get them back, or just to call and thank them instead of sending them the email.
