Hey everyone, welcome to the Automation Club. My name is Ben, and today we're going to be building a Send a Review Request After Purchase automation using Ontraport's Automation Builder. This is going to help you greatly in boosting your ratings engagement. So let's hop in and get started.

If this is your first time seeing an automation map within the Ontraport platform, it's totally okay. We'll get you all sorted out.

This is what the editor looks like and, generally speaking, the contacts will start at the top and they'll work their way down. To get it all started, we need a trigger element. A trigger element acts like an if-then statement. So if a contact performs a specific action or meets some sort of criteria, we'll add them to this map.

In this case the trigger is that they've purchased a product since we want to get a review from them. They'll sit here at a wait element. A wait element separates two different actions on the map - in this case the trigger and the email asking for the review. In this particular case, we had it wait for three days. You can change it to one month or one day if you'd prefer. They test out the product, then we send that email asking for the review. Again another wait, three days, one day, whatever you choose, and then asking politely again for the review if they didn't already provide the review.

Down here we have what is called a goal. A goal is the action that you want your contacts to achieve. Again, in this case we wanted them to fill out a form leaving a review. We are looking for that form fill out. If they did actually happen to fill out the form after that first email, they'll automatically get pulled down here and they won't get email number two. So, once they fill out that form and give you the review, you can then send them an email thanking them for that review providing a coupon code as a thank you or something like that.
