Feature Release: Automatic Email Tracking
A new checkbox for “Add tracking to the links of this email” will appear in Ontraport Email and legacy HTML emails. When an Ontraport user checks the “Add tracking to the links in this email” checkbox, the UTM variables will be added based on the email send type (e.g. broadcast emails, one-off emails, campaigns, sequences and rules).
The UTM variables are created automatically. Other than editing the asset name or subject, these items are not customizable at this time. This checkbox will be unchecked by default for new and existing emails. Ontraport users who want to enable the feature need to check the box in each email.
Ontraport users will be able to see first and last attribution data from email link clicks tracked in Campaign Builder Performance Mode, dashboard metrics, Tracking tab (only first attribution) and Google Analytics, provided they have that set up.
To handle the enormous amount of data that comes along with tracking every email open, link click, first/last attribution, and page visit, we’ve also upgraded our tracking performance.
We added object type ID to the notes endpoint in the API.
Transactional Email Display Update
It’s easier to see which emails are marked as transactional emails in the messages collection now. If an email is marked transactional, the messages list collection shows Ontraport Email (Transactional) and Email (Transactional).
Custom Objects Update
We fixed an issue with manually updating fields via the merge duplicate feature.
We fixed an issue that prevented groups based on related object, campaign and sequence subscriptions from loading.
We fixed an issue in campaign and rule conditions that caused incorrect value selections to display for related object bulk email status and bulk SMS status.Order Form Payment Gateway Warning
Payment gateways are required to save or publish any Ontraport Page, Ontraport Form or legacy smart form. If an order form or upsell form is added without a payment gateway selected, when the user clicks “save” or “publish,” the system prompts a warning to add a payment gateway and forces the user to select a gateway.
Order Processing Update
We fixed an issue that caused order forms to fail to redirect to PayPal when billing address fields were hidden and still required.
Campaign Builder Update
We fixed an issue that caused unattached elements after copying paths in Campaign Builder.
Messages Update
We fixed an issue that prevented edits to legacy double opt-in messages from saving.
We fixed an issue that prevented emojis from saving in the subject lines for HTML messages.
