Ontraport Systems help with two things: getting set up fast and staying organized. In this lesson, you'll see what a system is, how to install a prebuilt one with a Setup Wizard, and how to build your own from scratch. A system is everything you use for one process, kept together. Take a monthly email newsletter. Its system holds the signup form, the newsletter emails and the automation map. Your sales pages don't belong in it. Your assets still live in their collections, like Messages and Automations. A system just gathers the ones for one project, so you can view, edit and check on them in one place. Systems are optional. To turn them on or off, click your profile icon, go to Administration, then Advanced features. With Systems off, your account keeps working normally. You can create a system from scratch, or use a Setup Wizard to customize a prebuilt one. Prebuilt systems are made by Ontraport's writers, designers and automation builders, so you can launch without learning every tool first. There are wizards for lead capture, lead nurture, long-form sales pages, membership sites and more. Click Systems, then New System. The Recommended section shows systems picked for you based on your account activity, and the search icon lets you find a specific one. Hover over a system and click Start. You'll see an overview of the system, its steps and the assets it includes. Click Get started. Each step customizes one piece of the system, like its design or copy, and gives you tips along the way. Click Next to move on, or the back arrow to go back. You can skip a step and come back to it later, or jump to any step from the list on the left. Finished steps get a checkmark. Your progress saves automatically after each step. To take a break, click the X in the top-right corner. The last step of every wizard is the publishing instructions. It's a good place to review everything before you install. Click Finish to install the system, then click View system when it's done. A system you install with a wizard has three tabs. Overview shows the system's assets, each in its own mini-collection. Click an asset's name to edit it, and click Add to bring in an existing asset or create a new one. You can add contact tags here too. Notes appears after you finish a wizard. It explains the strategy behind the system, your next steps, how to monitor it and how to keep customizing it. Settings holds the name, description and category. You can add system tags to group your systems, like "lead collection" for every system that brings in new leads. And under Edit Sections, you can drag sections to reorder the Overview page. To build your own, click Systems, then New System, then Start from scratch. Name your system. Assets are grouped into sections, like Contacts, Pages and Memberships, and General, plus one for each other object you use, like Deals. Find the right section, click Add, choose an existing asset or create a new one, and click Save. If an asset is linked to others, like a form that leads to a custom thank-you page, or emails sent by an automation, Ontraport asks whether to add those to the system too. From the system's record, you can add, edit and remove assets any time, and see stats for each asset type, like how many contacts opened or clicked an email. Click Systems in the top navigation bar to see all your systems. It works like any other collection, with one extra: a Progress column that shows how far along each wizard is. Click an unfinished system to pick up the wizard where you left off. Click a finished one to open its record. To delete a system, select it and click Delete. So: systems keep every asset for a project in one place, and Setup Wizards get you from a prebuilt system to a working one, step by step.
