Like everything else in Ontraport, the mobile app is built for flexibility. You can set things up just the way you like.

In this video, I’ll show you the tools and settings available to customize your app’s navigation, collections, records and more. Let’s get started.

One of the first things you’ll want to set up is your navigation. It’s easy to reorder your menu so the data you use most often is right there at your fingertips.

Here’s how you make that happen. Tap on your menu button, then go to Settings and Edit navigation. You’ll notice that your list looks exactly the same as your widgets.

Go ahead and drag your collections around to order them in a way that works for you. If you want to hide one, just tap this little eye icon. Remember, these top three items will determine what your navigation bar looks like.

When you’re happy with your changes, tap this check mark.

After your reordering, you’ll see that these top three collections will become the three icons in your main navigation bar.

Now that your navigation is all set, take a look at your collections.

When you’re looking at a list of records, like contacts or deals, there are probably certain fields you need easy access to. With that data front and center, you can identify what’s what — without clicking into every record to see details. Since each collection has its own unique fields, you’ll set this up differently for each record type. Here’s how.

First, pick out the collection you want to edit. Then tap these three dots in the corner. From here, you can organize your records based on three options: Sort, Color and Fields.

The Sort option is pretty straightforward — you can choose which field you want to sort your collection by. If you want to see your most recent contacts, for example, you’d sort by “date added.”

Meanwhile, you can label your records with the Color option. This will show up on the side of each record in the collection overview screen.

This works a lot like card view in the desktop app. You can use this color-coding system for all sorts of organization.

For example, you might use a color field to indicate the size of a particular deal. Or maybe you use it to track the last time you contacted someone. There’s lots of room to get creative here. You can learn more about this in the Card View video — it works the same way on mobile as it does on your desktop.

That leaves us with Fields. You can pick which fields show up for each record when you view the whole collection. As you add more fields here, your records will take up more space in the collection — which means you may have to do a little more scrolling.

But this is really convenient! You’ll see your most commonly used fields on the overview screen at a glance. Plus, when you search your contacts, the fields you select here will be the ones used in the search. Just like in the desktop app.

That’s it for collections! Now I’ll show you how to customize individual records.

When you drill into a record, you can swipe between three tabs: Overview, Details and More. You can customize the Details and More screens.

In your Details tab, you can edit the fields that show up here. Tap this settings icon. To add a new field, tap on this plus button. You can drag your fields around to reorder them, like this.

Want to delete any fields? Select one by tapping and holding its name — or you can always use “select all” to grab every field on the screen. Once you have at least one field selected, you can tap this trash can to hide it.

Keep in mind, this won’t actually DELETE the field from Ontraport — it’ll just hide it from your mobile app display. You can always add it back again later.

When you’re satisfied with your changes, save them by tapping this checkmark.

Now onto the More tab. The big thing here is choosing which widgets you want to show and hide.

You get optional widgets for all your related records, tasks and notes. To customize all that, tap this settings icon. You’ll be able to show or hide widgets with this eye icon. Or you can drag each widget to adjust the order you see them in. When it looks right, save it with the checkmark.

That covers all the different ways to customize your records! Let’s move on to auto call logging.

If you plan on using the Ontraport mobile app to manage sales calls, I highly suggest using auto call logging. Here’s how it works when you turn it on:

Every time you call one of your leads in the app, your “log call” form will pop up automatically as soon as you hang up. This helps you remember to log your calls — plus, you’ll be adding all those details while they’re still fresh.

To turn on auto call logging, tap Settings and Auto log calls. Decide if you want it enabled or disabled, then hit the check mark.

Great! The only thing left to customize is your app’s theme.

If you’re a night owl like me, you may want to turn on the dark theme. It’s great for reducing eye strain when you work in low light. Here’s a quick way to get that going.

Go to your menu and tap Settings, then Theme. You can pick “Light” for a white backdrop or “Dark” for a black backdrop. Or simply pick “System” if you want your theme colors to match your phone’s system display settings. Your app will start using your chosen theme right away.

Now you know how to customize your Ontraport mobile app. The buttons you use all the time should be easily accessible, and your records should show all the fields you need — no more, no less.
