Introduction

As retired federal employees and military veterans, Conan Bruce and Jerry Haran saw a critical gap: There wasn’t enough support for managing Thrift Savings Plans (TSPs) — the federal government's equivalent of a 401(k). Motivated to close that gap, they launched Grow My TSP.

What started as a PDF newsletter and an email list has since grown into a robust financial education program — complete with a 60-lesson online membership course, real-time SMS alerts for market activity, personalized retirement plans delivered through private online portals and more.

Much of this was made possible by the team’s switch to Ontraport in 2020.

Since then, the Virginia-based company has seen a 40x increase in paid subscribers and 328% revenue growth.

Using Ontraport’s Dynamic CMS, Grow My TSP creates personalized retirement plans for its members. Members fill out an online questionnaire, which generates their plan, which they can then access in their private portal.
