Ontraport has all sorts of interesting and useful tools for sharing your assets with other users.
You can share your automation map as well as your pages, emails, forms and any other assets, and you can share them in a bunch of different ways. You can share them with one specific other account, you can get a link and share the link with anyone, or you can even submit your stuff for approval to be listed in the Ontraport Marketplace, which is where you see all the templates for automations and pages and stuff.
So why would you want to share your automations? Well, you could share them out of the goodness of your own heart. You know, to help people. Or — you could do it for the cash… because in Ontraport you can sell your automations to other users.
If you sell your automations on Ontraport, we’ll manage the billing and you’ll pocket 90% of the sale price.
If you’re ready to start sharing your automations in the Marketplace, follow along as I walk you through the steps.
1. You'll create a Marketplace profile
2. Prep your automation for sharing,
3. Find the share button,
4. Decide on your settings, and
5. Use the Content Manager.
Let’s start with the first step and:
1. Create a Marketplace profile.
You’ll do this by going to your user profile, clicking “Administration,” then “Ontraport Marketplace” and lastly, “Profile Manager”. Then, fill out all the required fields with your info.
You only need to follow the last step if you want to share your automations in the public Marketplace. If you only want to share them privately, outside of the marketplace, you can skip that step.
2. Next, you’ll prepare your automation for sharing.
Take a moment to think through how someone is going to find their way around your automation. This would be a good time for you to make sure that your assets are actually ready to be shared.
Consider adding notes to your automation to explain what’s happening on the map. People will see your checklist items too, so adding these will make your automation more user-friendly for them.
Also, make sure that any assets you’re going to share don’t include any private or copyrighted materials.
3. For step three, you’ll need to find the “Share” button.
Once your Automation is ready to go, just click the “Share” button in the top right-hand corner. You’ll see two options: “Share with all users” or “Share with individual users.”
4. Now, you’ll need to decide on your settings.
As I mentioned before, when sharing an automation for the first time, you’ll be given the options to “Share with all users” or “Share with individual users.”
The first option, as you probably guessed, allows you to share your automation with everyone, and it will create a listing inside our Marketplace for all users to see.
The second option lets you specify who you want to share your automation with. You may also simply provide a link and send it that way.
Whichever way you go, you’ll need to name, describe and select a category for your automation. You’ll also be asked if you want to include your emails, forms, pages, etc. with your Automation.
If you’re sharing your Automation with all users, decide if you want to offer it up for free or if you want to try to make a buck.
If you’re sharing it with a specific person, you have a few more options:
You can share it by copying and pasting a link. Or you can enter your recipients’ login email addresses, along with a message you want to add to the invitation.
There’s another way to share these assets that’s pretty tricky. You can share it with anyone who has bought one of your products in your Ontraport account. If you’re in the business of selling business or marketing assets, this is a great feature! You can build your product offerings with your Ontraport’s ecommerce tools and deliver your products to buyers automatically through the Marketplace.
You’ll be asked to select the product from a dropdown menu, whether it’s for purchasers or current subscribers.
As long as your buyers’ email address matches their Ontraport login, we’ll get them access to your assets automatically, according to the settings.
Then you’ll agree to the terms of use and click “Share Automation.” If you have a complex automation map or a lot of assets to share, it may take a few minutes for us to package it all up.
Also, anything being shared to the public Marketplace is first manually approved by our team and just a heads up — that process can take a few days.
5. Now for the final step: use the Content Manager.
You can see a list of all your currently shared content in the Content Manager. You can find the Content Manager by going to your user profile, then “Administration, “Ontraport Marketplace” and “Content Manager.”
The Content Manager is where you can see if any automations you want to share with the Marketplace have been approved. Or, if you want to stop sharing an automation, choose your shared automation from the Content Manager, and click “Stop Sharing.”
One more thing!
So while sharing with others is nice, don’t forget you can use other people’s content for your business! Here’s how to grab automations from the Marketplace:
When creating a new automation, you’ll notice that you can “Start from scratch” or you can pick from the available automations from the Marketplace.
You can filter your options by type, industry, author and tags on the left side of the screen, and there are tons of free, paid, premium and already-built automations for you to choose from.
We recommend finding a free, prebuilt automation that looks like it’ll meet your goals. Then all you’ll have to do is spiff it up to fit your needs and voila!
Awesome, you’ve learned about automations in Ontraport!
Now you’re ready to start building automated processes for your business, leveraging Ontraport’s true value and freeing up your time in the process.
